Summary & Resopnse

In my words, I would say that the main ideas in Linda Berry’s “Two Questions” would have to be how to overcome the two questions asked. Basically, in this narrative Berry is troubled when she comes across a couple of questions that flabbergast her. The two questions being “is this good” and “does this suck?”.  Throughout the narrative Berry depicts her first experiences of writing. She sums up this technique by stating that her “lines made a picture and her picture made a story” (lines being sentences). When she is done writing, she usually asks herself these questions. Her childish ways of writing seem to clear things up with the audience in many ways. Her Picasso-like drawings made a huge impact on the entire piece by giving each character a meaning, which helped get her point across even further. Also, the use of symbols and ever changing print to cursive provide an astounding way of drawing the reader into the story by both providing humor and clarity. However, I would have to say that I learned way differently from Berry in my own experience becoming literate. I would only write to satisfy my elementary school teacher’s needs, not having the weightless feeling such as Berry. Although I do not totally disagree with that way that Berry was taught, I would not have learned that way because I can already tell hat I am not nearly as close of an artist as she is.

  1. Interesting to see things from another perspective, right?

Your "about me" is pretty interesting. Did you write that? Have you been able to answer any of those questions?
